A memorial service for Mr. David Viron Dyess, 56, of Nacogdoches, Texas will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 19, 2012, at Laird Funeral Home with Bro. Don Copeland officiating. Mr. Dyess was born May 7, 1956, to Viron Noble and Doris Tillis Dyess in Nacogdoches, Texas. He passed away May 15, 2012, in Lufkin, Texas. David accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at Redland Baptist Church in Redland, Texas, at a very young age. David had a few careers in his life. He worked with his father, Viron Noble, as a painter and paper hanger. He carried on his father's legacy, even after he passed away October 9, 1987. In the summer of 1989, David decided to move back to Bryan, Texas, for greener pastures. He worked several jobs while living in Bryan, but always had dreamed of working for himself as a business owner but never really decided on what business to go into. Then he moved to Nacogdoches, Texas, in 2004, where he found a job as lead maintenance man at Lexington Place Nursing Home. He eventually was promoted to payroll clerk where he finally found a career he loved as much as the people he worked with. David Viron Dyess was truly blessed. He is survived by his daughters, Lisa Martin and husband, Mark Green, of Nacogdoches, Texas, Tiffany Jeanfavre and husband, Garrett, of Coeur D'Alene, Idaho; his son, Daniel Dyess and wife, Jennifer, of Maydelle, Texas; sister, Debra Balch and husband, Ted; brothers, Danna Dyess and wife, Linda, of Bryan, Texas, Timothy Dyess and wife, Vickie, of Nacogdoches, Texas, and Stephen Dyess and wife, Janice, of New Caney, Texas; sisters-in-law, Dora Dyess of Bryan, Texas, and Dr. Jerri Sue Dyess of Deer Park, Texas; grandchildren, Madelyn Jeanfavre, Taylor Martin, Dekotah Martin, Jace Green, Grayson Green and Shyann Fairchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Viron Noble and Doris Dyess; two brothers, Dale Dyess and Terry Dyess; and a daughter, Tamatha Ann Dyess. David,

It was a pleasure working with you these last few years when I was in your facility consulting. You were always so nice and helpful to everyone. A real shock when I heard the news of your passing, we had just talked on the phone.

You made the world a better place. Thoughts and prayers for your family. RIP

Karen Benton
