I just found out today from Joey Johnson that Jackie had passed away. She was a cousin of his. I remember him from Nettie Marshall. His dad Steve drove a school bus with my grandfather and so the whole family was at school bus driver functions that we would go to also. They lived out at Alazan and I can remember on those early summer mornings when Gary and I went to help our grandfather at his farm, sometimes passing by their farm and they would all be out working too. A hard-working salt of the earth family--Jackie was a sweet boy in school--a gentle giant who towered over all the other boys. I had often wondered why he didn't graduate with us. His father would have been one who insisted that his boy finish school. I am sorry that I did not know he passed away.
